I am not sure, but I would think that a jail term that takes Michael Vick off the football field would allow for the Falcons to release him and not be responsible for any more payments that were set forth in his contract.

I heard on a sports radio show a few days ago that Michael Vick is worth about 4 million at this point. Pathetic, eh? But good for dogs everywhere. His attorneys should take the largest portion of that.

So far as his ability to make a living after prison, I hope he will be forced to be the 'fastest busboy' ever, as another poster mentioned.

He could teach people about the horrors of dogfighting, that's if he has learned a lesson in humanity. Dogfighting is for monsters. It's the most cruel thing one could do to a poor dog. I don't pity him for being banned and losing his endorsements. No, I don't think he should be paid millions. They're overpaid kids. They need to really work for the money not play a game.
Uh...If he's banned from the NFL, which he will be if he is found guilty, his contract will be terminated...meaning the Falcons won't have to pay him...

I think the falcons still need to pay him... but if they don't need to pay him he can go get a JOB like everyone else.
The Falcons will probably have to pay him something, depending on how is contract is structured. Then again, if he gets convicted and goes to jail, there's probably a clause in there that says they don't have to pay him.

NFL contracts aren't guaranteed, so they won't need to pay him. If he gets convicted, the Falcons will just release him. They might even if he isn't convicted.

I'm pretty sure he's set for life anyway. He's been making millions of dollars every year with his NFL contract, not to mention how much money he earned on endorsements.

Unless he was extremely stupid with his money, he really shouldn't have to work again if he doesn't want to.

If Vick ends up in jail, he won't have to make a living. you and I and everyone else will be paying for his food, clothes, living quarters, etc. WE will be supporting him.
If Vick gets a lifetime ban from the NFL, the Falcons can take back the signing bonus but still has to pay him the contract amount. Vick does not ever have to worry about money anyway, for he made enough in his 5 seasons (contracts, signing bonus, and endorsements) to last him, his children, and his children's children a lifetime. Unless they make some bad bets on dogs ...
